Mazuma Money Launch Software to Challenge Tech Giants
South-Wales-based firm of Accountants, Mazuma Money, have stunned the market by launching their own bookkeeping software for small businesses as part of their subscription service.
Since their launch in 2006, the multi-award-winning firm has carved a niche in the small business market using their innovative purple envelope system to handle clients’ accounts; and now they’ve made a huge splash in the tech space in a way that is sure to ruffle some feathers.
Naming the software MazApp, the technology has all the great features of rivals like Xero, but with one huge advantage – there are accountants behind it that do all of the data entry and analysis for you. That means that you can’t accidentally use figures that are incorrect because you unwittingly entered something wrong – everything has been checked and verified by an accountant.
Asked why they decided to go down this route instead of adopting one of the incumbent providers for their clients, Co-Founder Lucy Cohen said,
“We know what small businesses need. They need a reliable bit of software with a great accountant to call on for help if they need it. What they don’t need is to spend hours inputting data themselves, only for an accountant to tell them they’ve done it wrong!”
“We built MazApp to make data entry accessible for everyone – and that means that our specialists handle it. We use a combination of the latest technology combined with highly-trained accountants to get results.”
With a raft of features like invoicing, VAT filing, receipt capture and even being able to link MazApp to your bank accounts, Mazuma Money estimates that their software will save business owners on average 6 hours a month of admin. And because it is all attached to a dedicated accountant they won’t have to worry about extra bills or dealing with letters from the Taxman.
MazApp also acts as a central point for all of your tax documents and accounts – so if you ever need a copy of anything for a bank manager or mortgage application, it’s all there in one place.
“I hate the phrase one-stop-shop,” says fellow Co-Founder Sophie Hughes,
“But that’s really what it is.”
“All we want business owners to do, is to get on with running their businesses – the last couple of years have been hard enough for them without stressing about accounts and tax too. Let us handle the boring stuff!”
And what about businesses that still live in a world of paper receipts and delivery notes, won’t this create more admin for them?
“Absolutely not!” Hughes says.
“They can still send us their paperwork in a purple envelope if they like. We’ll even scan and upload it all for them.”
Mazuma Money start their subscriptions at £32 a month which includes all software, tax filings, and a dedicated qualified accountant.
