Accountancy is complicated. It seems bizarre to us that so many Accountants just give their clients a piece of software and then expect them to do all the leg work while they check in every now and again.
So our processes mean that we do all the heavy lifting, while you get on with running your business.
You can use our app, or just send us your paperwork in a Freepost purple envelope. Either way you’ll be getting a multi award-winning service that doesn’t leave you spending hours faffing around with software or numbering your receipts.

Mazuma's Accountancy Subscription is so easy to use
Want a qualified Accountant on subscription from just £32 + VAT per month? You’ve come to the right place. Once you’ve signed up with us all you have to do it:
- Give us your documents (either via Royal Mail Freepost or our secure web portal (Mazapp)
- We will do all of your bookkeeping, payroll, bank reconciliations and payroll
- Every month your Accountant will send you your accounts and advice
- At the end of the year we do all of your returns and submit them to Companies House and/or HMRC
You’ll have your Accountant on hand all year for advice and support. And you can access your reports from any smart phone, tablet or desktop.

The dangers of too much technology
Technology can be absolutely brilliant. In fact, we use our very own technology to help provide our clients with our service. We use a suite of technology including much that we have developed ourselves, to make us super efficient and keep our costs down for our clients. What we don’t do is make our clients use technology themselves (unless they want to!).
Challenger banks and many software companies would lead you to believe that simply hooking an app up to open banking, or letting an AI bot categorise your receipts is enough to get your taxes filed. And in many ways it can be – after all, you can technically file whatever you want with HMRC and Companies House.
It takes up to 7 years to become a Chartered Accountant
The big question of course is whether that information is correct or not.
Most of our clients are not Chartered Accountants. And so for most of our clients, knowing what is and isn’t a tax deductible expense, or how to deal with depreciation or capital allowances, is not something they have the time to learn.
And quite frankly – you shouldn’t need to! That’s why Accountants are here.
The old adage in reporting is ‘rubbish in, rubbish out’. Roughly translated – your report is only as good as your data.

If you sign up with us part way through your financial year it is very likely that there will a catch-up of bookkeeping and accounts work to be done to get you up to date. For example, if your financial year commences in April and you sign up with Mazuma in July, your first payment to us will be 4 x £monthly price to cover April, May, June and July. Don't worry though. you can split your catch-up payment over the first three months of your contract if you like! Once you're all up to date you will just pay your fixed monthly price. In order for us to complete your year end accounts and tax returns we simply ask that you have been a client of Mazuma for one year or have made the equivalent of 12 monthly payments.
Of course! You will be allocated your own Accountant, who will always deal with your accounts and tax as well as any ongoing questions you may have.
Yes. The fixed monthly price includes all of your year end statutory requirements and tax returns as well as your monthly bookkeeping, management accounts, payroll, VAT and other services you have selected in your quote - this will all be outlined in our terms and conditions we send you when you start with Mazuma.
